Scroll through these slides for the TEA on Reiki, an energy healing practice that helps you tap into your own inner wisdom and build resilience from the inside out.
Reiki is an ancient energy healing practice that helps your body tap into its natural ability to heal—emotionally, physically, and spiritually. It’s a gentle, hands-on (or even hands-off) approach that channels universal energy into your body, helping to release tension and restore balance.
Reiki originated in Japan with Mikao Usui in the early 20th century. It has since spread worldwide, adapting to modern needs while staying true to its core values: compassion, intuition, and the belief that each person is their own best healer.
What does Reiki help with?
Reiki supports healing on all levels—mind, body, and spirit—and can be a powerful ally in your journey. It addresses not just physical symptoms but also the deeper imbalances that often underlie them. Stress, unresolved emotions, and blocked energy can manifest as headaches, digestive issues, fatigue, or chronic pain. Reiki helps to harmonize the flow of energy in your body, bringing relief and a renewed sense of clarity and calm.
Reiki works by balancing the body’s chakras—energy centers. When these centers are out of balance, it can affect a person physically, mentally, and emotionally. Reiki helps bring these centers back into harmony, which can reduce discomfort and create a sense of inner peace.
Reiki is a beautiful addition to any wellness plan. Whether you’re just beginning your healing journey or feeling like your battery is running low and you need to reinvigorate your path, Reiki offers a gentle, supportive way to reconnect with yourself and your innate capacity to heal.
During a session, you’ll lie down comfortably on a massage table or a similar supportive surface, fully clothed. You may be covered with a light blanket for added comfort. I’ll guide you through a brief grounding process to help you relax and settle in.
Once you’re comfortable, I’ll begin by lightly placing my hands on or just above specific areas of your body—like your head, shoulders, torso, arms, legs, and feet. I may spend more time on areas that feel particularly tense or energetically blocked. Each position is held for a few minutes as the energy flows where it’s needed.
You may also notice soothing aromas, calming music, and carefully selected crystals placed near or on your body to enhance the energy flow and deepen your relaxation. Many people report feeling a sense of warmth, tingling, or deep relaxation during a session. Some experience emotional release, such as tears or laughter, while others simply drift into a meditative state. Every session is unique, and your experience may be different each time.
Four sessions usually make up a complete treatment, giving your system time to reset, realign, and begin its own healing process.
Each session lasts about 90-120 minutes
Reiki is not limited by distance—it works just as powerfully remotely. Whether you’re in the same room or across the globe, Reiki can reach you, supporting your healing wherever you are. This means I can offer Reiki to clients worldwide, giving you the flexibility to receive care in a way that fits your life.
My personal journey with Reiki
I discovered Reiki during a challenging time in my own health. In the journey with FND (Functional Neurological Disorder). Living with chronic illness made me look for relief that felt supportive and gentle. Reiki offered a way to slow down, breathe, and connect with my own energy. It has transformed not only my healing but also how I support others on their paths. As a certified Usui Reiki practitioner, I’m honored to share this practice and help you tap into your own natural ability to heal.
Why Reiki, and why now?
In a world that often asks us to push through and carry more than we should, Reiki is a reminder to pause. It honors the wisdom of your body and invites you to receive care and support. Sometimes, the most powerful healing comes from allowing yourself to be still.
